      DARK LOVER is an addictive vampire story with a smoldering narrator. This urban paranormal romance has tons of kick. Jim Frangione deftly handles the romance and the vampire dynamics--although a more cynical tone might better characterize the worldview of ancient warriors who annihilate demons on a daily basis. Further, Frangione does not differentiate the voices of the multiple male vampires, so conversations are moderately hard to follow. Pauses as the story lines change allow listeners to follow the different plot threads easily--but are a tad long.
